Apple today has published three new ads focused on Portrait Lighting on iPhone X, and Live Photos. Without any narration, the three videos are quick and easy tutorials on how to shoot, and edit Portrait Lighting photos, along with the third demonstrating how to add effects to Live Photos. Since its debut, Apple has released a slew of new iPhone X tutorial videos. And rightfully so, the iPhone X is a new take on how to navigate and use an iPhone....

The Apple Store has gone down ahead of Apple’s latest media event at 10 AM PDT today. Apple is widely expected to announce two new iPhones and a brand new wearable device. Interestingly, Apple has finally dropped the linen from its ‘We’ll be back’ page, finally modernizing it with a post-iOS 7 stark white design. When the store goes back up, it will likely include information about Apple’s latest announcements. Information about preorders for the new phones is not known....

Following the latest 4K drone flyover video we posted earlier this month, Apple has shared an updated aerial shot showing construction progress on its Campus 2 project in Cupertino. The new shot shows significant developments since last month’s official image. The aerial shot above shows the main circular structure and surrounding campus starting to take shape. As part of its redesigned App Store with a focus on curation and editorial content, this evening has launched a new “This Weekend Only” weekly promotion. This will offer discounts on things such as apparel, travel, food, and other categories. Apple is kicking it off with five stellar offerings from HotelTonight, Chipotle, and more. Apple explains that “This Weekend Only” will appear every Thursday evening in the App Store, offering an exclusive promotion that’s available in popular applications....

Following this year’s September iPhone event, Apple has begun seeding out the final builds for watchOS 3. This golden master release can be downloaded as an update from the Watch app on an iPhone, or its appropriate configuration file can be downloaded from Apple’s Developer Center. watchOS 3 GM should be the final release we see before an official release of watchOS 3 is made public. watchOS 3’s public release date is set for next week, September 13th....

One of the largest property companies in the San Francisco Bay Area has said during an investor call that Apple is seeking around 800,000 square feet of space in the area to expand its car project. The WSJ quotes Hudson Pacific Properties CEO Victor Coleman talking about rising demand for space for car R&D in the area. That would be almost a third the size of the spaceship campus Apple is currently building, which is around 2....

Following the update to their Apple News Format Design Tutorial, Apple has just published an update to their iOS Human Interface Guidelines with new iOS 10 design resources. The resources include templates and UI materials to help designers quickly design iOS applications. In the past, Apple has shared Sketch design templates for the Apple Watch and Dynamic Type Sizes, but today’s update is much more involved. According to Apple, the resources are “comprehensive and accurately depict the full range of UIKit controls, views and glyphs available to developers using the iOS SDK”....

Apple is inviting staff to vote for one of 20 different ‘community themes,’ a list of worthy projects ranging from using technology to boost environmental sustainability to empowering the elderly. One of the projects is geared to making Apple products more available to those who would not normally be able to afford them. The internal document references Apple’s approach of ‘a thousand no’s for every yes’ and says that votes will determine which themes go forward into further development and testing …...

With the introduction of the first beta of iOS 9.3, Apple introduced a new feature called Night Shift that adjusts the color temperature of your device’s display at night as to make it easier to fall asleep. One qualm many have had with the feature, however, is that you have to go into the Settings app to turn it on and off. Apple’s iOS 9.3 Canadian preview page, however, hints that it make become easier to enable the feature with future iOS 9....

Apple has seeded two software upgrades for OS X Mavericks internally, according to a source with knowledge of the upcoming updates. This person says that the updates are labeled as OS X 10.9.1 and OS X 10.9.2. The first update is expected to be released later this month, and it will serve as an update to squash bugs that accompanied the OS X 10.9.0 release of Mavericks last month. Many users have complained about issues relating to the Mail and iBooks applications, and Apple is preparing to release individual bug-fix updates for those apps in the coming days…...

As it does every year, Apple today has shared its 2017 holiday gift guide. This year’s gift guide highlights accessories for products across Apple’s lineup, including the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac… For each of its product lineups, Apple recommends a handful of accessories. From 9to5toys.com (Twitter, Feed, Facebook), today: Apple today started offering a couple new models of its latest generation iMac through its refurbished online store. Previously Apple was offering refurbished units of the new 21.5-inch iMac only, but we hadn’t seen any 27-inch models hit yet, which we assumed was likely due to yield issues and significant delays experienced in the iMac’s first few months of launch. Today Apple has finally started offering both the entry level 27-inch iMac and the higher end iMac, in addition to a couple of BTO models....

Apple first shared its plans for a new flagship Apple Store in Milan back in May of last year. The company said then that the store will sit beneath an amphitheater, and you’ll enter it using a staircase that descends through the middle of a fountain. A local report now says that there will be a two-stage opening next month, and explains the reason for the delay … Corriere della Sera reports that the site will open on Wednesday July 18....

Delays delivering those white iPhone 4 models may be related to light leakage problems, according to Scott Moritz at The Street.“Apparently, the back light from the iPhone display screen is leaking out around the edges of the glass and seeping through the back of the white phone, according to a person familiar with the manufacturing process,” he writes.Apple last week said the white models were proving to be, “more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected....

Apple and the World Wildlife Fund are partnering for a special Earth Day promotion at the Apple Store. Starting today, Apple will donate $1 to the World Wildlife Fund for every purchase made in stores with Apple Pay. To participate, simply visit an Apple retail location and purchase any item and pay with Apple Pay from any Apple Watch or compatible iPhone. (Note that the donation amount is based on the purchase alone, not how much the purchase is worth, so a $10 adapter has the same value for the fund as a $4000 Mac Pro....

Earlier today, the United States Supreme Court ruled that a major lawsuit against Apple and the App Store will be allowed to move forward. Now, Apple has responded to that Supreme Court decision, saying that it is confident it will prevail in court. SCOTUSblog explains that the question the Supreme Court had to answer was whether or not a consumer can sue anyone who delivers a product for antitrust damages, even if prices are set by third-parties who would be the victim of the offense....
